April 28, 2009 Beaufort residents will have the opportunity to see professional cycling teams race up close and personal. With racing speeds of up to 35 and 40 miles an hour and more than 120 professional male and female cyclists participating this will be a site to remember.

Cyclists representing all 15 national professional cycling teams will participate in the race, all vying for a slice of the $15,000 purse: $10,000 for the men’s competition and $5,000 for the women’s competition.

The new stimulus package sweetens the deal for homebuyers who purchase a residence on or after January 1, 2009, and before December 1, 2009. The incentive is for first-time homebuyers who remain in their home for at least three years. It provides a credit for 10 percent of the home purchase price, up to an $8,000 limit. The credit can be taken on your 2008 or 2009 tax return.

Last night Lowcountry Real Estate agents and spouses gathered together for their annual Christmas party. We all met at the beautiful Club house of Coosaw Point Estates. The weather was amazing and the food was delicious. Just when we thought things couldn't be more perfect we were blessed with the talents of one of our own. Brent Brodie blew us away on his sax with Christmas songs. Kenny G would have been proud! Merry Christmas everyone, have a happy and safe holiday.

A NIGHT ON THE TOWN begins tonight and downtown Beaufort merchants open their doors for a holiday open house. There will be decorations, choirs and a tree lighting.
