$100 Down on HUD foreclosures is a great way to purchase a home
with a full price offer.
Can you really buy a HUD home for a total of $100? Absolutely not! But if
you're a qualified buyer, you can use an FHA loan to buy one of HUD's
specifically designated homes for sale -- with only a $100 down payment!
For a limited time, $100 down payments are available to owner-occupied home
buyers when purchasing a HUD home (foreclosure) for full price and using an FHA-insured new
home loan.

In case you missed it, more than 200 lunatics went swimming in the waters off Hunting Island State Park on New Year's Day. This is not necessarily a Polar Bear plunge, but, trust me, the wind whips pretty good off the Atlantic this time of year, and water temperatures are in the low 50s. So it's cold. If you would like to see some of Beaufort's wildest and craziest in action, click here. . The event is sponsored by Friends of Hunting Is… Continue

Today was another excellent winters day in the Lowcountry! Although a little colder than normal, (high in the 50's) the sun was out and shining on the water. Historic downtown, (Bay Street) was full of post holiday shoppers and our office saw several property shoppers and "lookers". I actually had 2 showings of my own and 1 contract to work with today. All in all not bad activity for a holiday week in December! The Luxury Waterfront Loft project on Bay Street is rapidly nearing completion with 4… Continue

I've been sweatin' bullets all day. Not because of any undue stress, or a lingering deadline. I'm sweatin' bullets, because it's warm in Beaufort, SC -- 73 degrees!! Sitting on Dec. 15, less than two weeks before Christmas, and we are north of 70 degrees. Not much hope for a white Christmas this year in Beaufort.
Believe it or not, Beaufort has had at least one white Christmas, and it wasn't so long ago. In 1989, snow blanketed the Southeast, Beaufort included. Of course, I was 4.5 hours northw… Continue

Beaufort, with all its water and history, seems a natural place to catch a glimpse of an occasional classic yacht plying local waters. First discovered by European explorers almost 500 years ago, Beaufort and sister-city Port Royal have seen a lot of watercraft come and go over the years. During the Civil War, our little town served as one of the main ports for the U… Continue

One of the great tools for a home buyer is the Good Faith Estimate. Prepared by the lender, the good faith estimate itemizes costs of closing a loan with that particular lender. It is a great way for buyers to compare lenders.
Beginning in 2010, lenders will be required to use the new, simpler, 3-page HUD form, according to www.Realtor.com. By simplifying the form, the federal government hopes to prevent any oversights or misunderstandings regarding what it w… Continue

There are many local treasures in the Lowcountry -- Waterways, historic buildings, military and religious ruins like Fort Frederick and Old Sheldon Church..............and gators. Yes, alligators. These guys are everywhere. Area golfers will tell that you these reptiles are ubiqitous in the Lowcountry. These gators are by and large very private. They enjoy sunning themselves near fresh-water lakes and ponds, and along our many golf fairways. But although these gators tend to mind their own busin… Continue
