The Lowcountry Becomes You in Beaufort South Carolina

What was life like before Wi-Fi became ubiquitous?
Here I am, on a Saturday afternoon, able to blog, and also enjoy the festivities and ceremonies revolving around Military Appreciation Day, at Town Centre, on Boundary Street.
The turnout has been brisk. A band is jamming in the parking lot, while Tux the Clown is greeting guests at the door.
We are just now hearing from a host of speakers, including a representative from the U.S. Marine Corps, the mayor of Port Royal, state Rep. Tom Davis, a spoke from U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, and the Beaufort Chamber of Commerce.
The event, of course, coincides with the 233rd birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. The Marines are a huge part of the fabric of Beaufort.
In addition to the iconic Recruit Depot at Parris Island, Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station and the Beaufort Naval Hospital also make their home in the Lowcountry. Beaufort would not be the same without them.
If you're out and about today, swing by. We'll be here while.
Have a great day.
