The Lowcountry Becomes You in Beaufort South Carolina

EXPERIENCE ONE OF BEAUFORT'S MOST HISTORIC SPOTS THIS MONTH.....FOR FREE

The John Mark Verdier house, home to more than 200 years of history, has been opened for free tours in December. There is usually a cost associated with visiting and touring the home. The Verdier house, located on Bay Street, is one of our little town's true treasures. Built in the late 18th Century by local merchant John Mark Verdier, the home provided temporary housing for Revolutionary War hero, the Marquis de Lafayette, who addressed town residents from the front balcony. Later, the home served as Union headquarters during the Civil War. My buddy Jon Sharp can fill you in on the house, along with info on just about every other historic site in downtown Beaufort, on one of his terrific walking tours. Get more info on Jon at http://www.jonswalkinghistory.com/. Have a great day.
