Sweatin' Bullets in December

I've been sweatin' bullets all day. Not because of any undue stress, or a lingering deadline. I'm sweatin' bullets, because it's warm in Beaufort, SC -- 73 degrees!! Sitting on Dec. 15, less than two weeks before Christmas, and we are north of 70 degrees. Not much hope for a white Christmas this year in Beaufort.

Believe it or not, Beaufort has had at least one white Christmas, and it wasn't so long ago. In 1989, snow blanketed the Southeast, Beaufort included. Of course, I was 4.5 hours northwest of Beaufort that Christmas, and not a flake of snow fell on my house.

According to a couple of "old-timers" in our office, the snow was substantial enough to last a couple of days.
